As school counselors, we will be glad to meet with you individually and discuss any concerns you have about your son or daughter in a private setting. This may be necessary if you notice a dramatic change in your child's behavior or there is a change in the family. There of course will be times when we may meet jointly with you and your child's teacher. This may occur if you are concerned about your child academically, behaviorally, or socially. In certain situations, this is more effective because we can discuss the issue and work problems out together. Everyone is well informed and can work together to do their part to ensure success for your child.
At the beginning of school, we see many children who are anxious and may not want to come to school. This can be just as difficult on the parents. Please let us know if your child is experiencing this fear and we would like to give you some support and tips that may make this transition to a new school year easier.
