Small Group Counseling
Small Group Counseling is a service provided to kindergarten through fifth grade students. Groups consist of 6-8 students that are dealing with a similar issue. Many times working with other children that have the same problem or concern can prove beneficial. These groups meet once a week during lunch or recess so as not to interfere with loss of class time. The group typically meets for a six week period.
Common group topics are:
Dealing with Divorce
Friendship and Self-Esteem
Grief and Loss
Dealing with Anger/Self control
However, each year is different and the needs of students will dictate what types of groups are offered. We will always ask for your written permission before including a student in a group. If you think your child would benefit from being a part of a small group experience at any point this year, please contact us and we be glad to give you more information.
